A major project for Trial Lodge has been a can and bottle-recycling bin, which is placed on the lodge parking. People from the community deposit their cans and bottles in the bin and these are sorted and put in plastic bags. The bags are picked up by a recycling firm and the proceeds from the cans and bottles are put back into the community by the lodge donating to worthy community projects. As of Nov. 5, 2002 a total of 470,000 cans and bottles have been collected. The lodge has contributed to various projects a total of $19,370.00. This has been a very successful project for the lodge and the community. |
